How does the barrel caddie compare to the competition? TOP

Other drum carts are available from various suppliers, ranging from a simple 'O' or 'X' shape with 4 wheels under the drum all the way up to specialized drum hoists. The most common variant for moving and storing a barrel is a square platform with a swivel caster at each corner with some carts including a T-handle to aid in maneuvering. Yes, it will stay parked on an incline up to 5 degrees. (most driveways are 1-2 degrees)

What materials are used for construction of the barrel caddie? TOP

The standard caddie is has a steel body and handle with high quality roller-bearing rubber on steel casters. Stainless steel is available on request.

What kind of padlock can I use to secure the barrel caddie? TOP

The barrel caddie can be secured with standard master number 5 (or similar size) padlock.

Can I move a barrel that is completely full? TOP

Absolutely. Many people who try the barrel caddie for the first time can't believe that they're moving a full drum. It feels so light because of the leverage created by the handle.

Can you tell me more about how the cart locks? TOP

The barrel is locked to the cart by the handle that extends up and over the top of the drum. The cart itself is locked in the brake position, making it nearly impossible to move the cart by hand.

What is the weight capacity of the barrel caddie? TOP

The Barrel Caddie is rated at 800 lbs although we have reports from customers using the carts with open top drums to store and move scrap metal exeeding 1200 lbs.

What are the dimensions of the barrel caddie? TOP

The base is 24 inches square with a 1" leg on either side, the handle extends 47 inches above the floor.

How do you load a full barrel on the caddie? TOP

The cart is not designed to accommodate loading and unloading of full barrels by hand. It is recommended to fill the drum while already positioned on the cart. An overhead crane should be used if a full drum is to be moved onto the cart.
